The plan is based on Capgemini’s extensive expertise with people transfer processes and best practices in outsourcing,
both locally and internationally. It leads to a careful and respectable transition of staff.
The detailed plan for staff transfer should include a tailor made induction or on-boarding program for the
to-be-transferred employees. The usual process for on-boarding individual employees starts on the day they become
Capgemini employees. In transitions this is often the same date as the Service Commencement date.
This might not be such a good idea from the service delivery contract’s and Client business continuity perspective:
-
Going to on-boarding sessions with the whole team during the first 2-3 days at Capgemini endangers the service
delivery
-
Receiving a new Capgemini laptop on the first day at Capgemini, usually having just not enough software or access
to do your work also does not help to deliver according to the contract.
The artifact Staff Transfer Preparation Plan should include the on-boarding program to start a few weeks before the
staff is actually to be taken over. This includes both the training for new employees and receiving the tools and
access to enable them to do the work as a Capgemini employee.
The planning in the Staff Transfer Preparation Plan artifact should show all important dates, like the expected date of
workers council agreement and the date Capgemini is allowed to talk with the to-be-transferred employees. Please keep
in mind that these Staffing milestones are in practice seldom reached on time. Make sure these dates are linked in the
overall gantt-chart to all the work streams that are dependent of having contact with Subject Matter Experts, so that
delays can easily be proven to be transition program changes.
